3i to spend EUR 500m

The fund wants to acquire several firms in the CEE region. It is interested in fuels and TMT sector.

3i, a private equity fund, wants to increase its engagement in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland. The company is interested in projects over EUR 100m to EUR 1.5 billion. It has recently launched “Eurofund V”, a fund which raised EUR 5 billion a d is going to invest 10 percent of this amount in the region. 3i is interested in TMT, oil and gas sectors.

The first project in the region was announced in February. 3i acquired Euro-Druckservice, a company with offset printing houses in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. The companies acquired by the fund will probably be listed because this is the way 3i withdraws from the projects. In the last five years, the company has conducted 46 IPOs worldwide.
