Plaza’s profits boosted by shopping malls

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The construction company boasts with record results and plans to pay out high dividend.

Dutch Plaza Centers, construction company building shopping malls, had EUR 227m of gross income in 2007, up from EUR 14.7m. Sales amounted to EUR 510m and were 589 percent higher than a year earlier. The record income was generated thanks to selling three shopping malls in Poland, one in Plzen in the Czech Republic and the biggest project in Budapest.

“Despite global decrease of economy, the demand for shopping malls and entertainment surfaces is big. With EUR 400m of funds we may increase our portfolio and engage in new projects”, Ran Shtarkman, Plaza CEO said.

 

In 2007, Plaza invested EUR 425m.At the end of May, the company will pay out EUR 57m of dividend, or GBP 0.14 per share. The stock of the company which is listed also in Israel and the USA, grew in Warsaw by 0.5 percent to PLN 9.55 (EUR 2.7).
