WIG20 ends the day below opening for the 7th consecutive day

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – It was the seventh session, when the WIG20 started the day well and then decreased. On Thursday, it ended the day at 1,873.27, or 0.6 percent higher than on Wednesday. Investors were not very active, which is no surprise. Today, the lower chamber of the Polish Parliament voted against dissolution. Tomorrow, PM Marek Belka will announce his resignation.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – It was the seventh session, when the WIG20 started the day well and then decreased. On Thursday, it ended the day at 1,873.27, or 0.6 percent higher than on Wednesday. Investors were not very active, which is no surprise. Today, the lower chamber of the Polish Parliament voted against dissolution. Tomorrow, PM Marek Belka will announce his resignation. It probably won’t be accepted by the president and the government will not change, but the political factor has not disappeared completely.

TPSA rebounded after Wednesday losses while PKN Orlen fuel giant fell. Shares of only these two companies worth over PLN 100 m (EUR 23.9 m) changed hands. PKO BP shares worth PLN 50.9 m changed hands, 973,560 shares changed hands.

Investors of several smaller companies had a great day – provided the firms had good first quarter results. Jutrzenka sweet producer jumped 17.4 percent after it said it had net income of PLN 9.3 m, up from PLN 3 m last year. Similarly, rose Wilbo and Instal Lublin, while Torfarm and ATM fell because their results disappointed investors.
