Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The company may have a loss this year. Everything depends on wage negotiations.

Poczta Polska, the Polish Post, had its financial plan for the year 2008 approved yesterday.

“Contrary to the previous proposal, the plan provides for wage increases. This year, PP may have a loss for the first time in many years but it won’t lose liquidity” Bogumil Nowicki from Solidarnosc trade union, and member of PP council said.

Final decision concerning this year’s financial results has not been made yet.

“On Friday, the management meets trade unions in order to agree how big the wage increases will be. If consensus is reached, we will be able to forecast this year’s results”, Kamila Rudnik from PP said.

PP may look for additional funds by increasing its prices.

“We consider asking the office of electronic communications to approve an increase in our price list”, Bogumil Nowicki said.

PP employing 100,000 people faces strikes. Trade unionists want gross salaries to grow by PLN 800 (EUR 221.6). The management proposes PLN 100. The second round of talks will be held tomorrow.
