Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – ABN Amro group plans savings. Poland will be one of the few beneficiaries of the program.

ABN Amro Holding wants to save EUR 900m till 2008. It is going to cut employment in the traditional regions of its business, including Latin America. Some operations will be shifted to India, China and Poland where the employment will be bigger.

“IT system management, operating functions like transfers and many others will be shifted to ABN Amro Polska”, Aleksander Lubowski, a manager from the Polish unit explained.

He added that the strategy does not provide for adding retail banking to the offer in Poland.

“We will remain a corporate bank specializing in advising and international trade. However, the group has proved that Poland is special – last year, the client verification services were moved here from India”, Aleksander Lubowski added.

At first, the Poles were supposed to verify the documents of the clients from Europe. Now, 100 people verify all the clients of the group.
