In the first four months of this year, exports grew 20.4 percent to EUR 22 billion, the Central Statistical Office GUS said. Imports rose 6.9 percent to over EUR 24 billion. ‘The date do not change Poland’s foreign trade much. In April exports dynamics slowed down but there is no threat to the balance of payment’, Marcin Mroz, Societe Generale chief economist commented.
The biggest exports increase was noted in trade with Russia (80.1 percent), Hungary (32.3 percent) and the UK (30.9 percent). Imports grew most in trade with the Netherlands (23.6 percent) and China (18.7 percent).
