Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Italian FVH will buy shares worth PLN 20m (EUR 5.2m). Another stake will be acquired by Ukrainian Donbas.
Stocznia Gdansk shipyard is going to invest PLN 200m. First, it needs PLN 50m. The Agency of Industrial Development (ARP) has agreed to raise the shipyard's capital by PLN 20m at first. The investor would have a 25 percent stake. Andrzej Jaworski, Stocznia Gdansk CEO believes that the stake will be acquired by an Italian investor. FVH operating in LNG sector may become the owner of the shipyard. The Italians could order small and medium-sized ships to transport LNG in the Polish shipyard.
Talks are being held already concerning another issue. The Ukrainian Donbas, which delivers ship sheet metals, is the second potential investor.
“We are holding negotiations but I cannot reveal any details”, Konstanty Litwinow, the representative of Donbas to Poland said.
According to Andrzej Jaworski, negotiations will take place today and tomorrow. The decision may be made what stake the Ukrainians will buy. Some people say it may only 5 percent, others – that it should be at least 19 percent in order for Donbas to have its representative in the supervisory board.
Donbas is also a potential investor of Stocznia Gdynia, the owner of 30 percent of Stocznia Gdansk.
