Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The plant in Czestochowa has already received a flow of Ukrainian funds. Polish shipyards may get similar support.
ISD Polska, the company owned by Ukrainian Donbas which bought Huta Czestochowa steel plant, celebrates its first anniversary.
“In the first year, we were supposed to invest PLN 44m but we invested PLN 110m (EUR 28.9m). At the end of 2007, we will have invested over PLN 300m and at least PLN 400m at the end of 2008”, Konstanty Litwinow, ISD Polska CEO said.
Thanks to the investment, the company wants to produce new articles and increase capacity.
Donbas which produces ship steel wants to cooperate with the Polish shipyards. It is interested in investing in Stocznia Gdansk and Stocznia Gdynia shipyards. The latter may get PLN 500m of capital from new investors. However, the shipyard has giant debts.
