Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The representatives of KGHM, Poland’s listed copper producer, have now bigger demands concerning the extra bonus for last year’s income.

The Trade Union of the Copper Industry Employees (ZZPPM), comprising of 6,000 members, announced that it has launched a collective dispute with the management. The latter failed to start talks concerning an extra bonus to be paid to all employees because of first quarter income. The net income grew 70 percent to PLN 871.9m (EUR 220.6m).

“We are not greedy. The minister is taking KGHM’s money in higher dividend. Why should the staff not demand to share the income?”, Ryszard Zbrzyzny, ZZPPM head said.

The trade unions demanded the bonuses in March. It was only one of their postulates. The other provides for PLN 100m to be spent on social funds and injecting cash into subsidiaries. The management has already agreed to pay out bonuses for working on Sundays and holidays. ZZPPM hopes that negotiations with the management will start tomorrow. However, the latter plans to hold the meeting after the GSM, or June 14.
