Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – European investors started Thursday trading in good moods. The WSE did not trade against the trend and opened substantially up. For the first time in many days, green color dominated on the WSE. WIG20 rose nearly 3 percent in the morning and exceeded the level of 3,000 points. It quickly started losing, however and dropped below the opening. When Merrill Lynch published how big its losses are, European indices started to decrease while the WIG20 index dived to the lowest level reached on Wednesday.

Fortunately, other data from the USA, weakened the negative report from Merrill Lynch. There were positive data from the US labor market. European indices rebounded and WIG20 rose again but did not manage to come back to its high. It ended slightly up. mWIG40, the index of mid-caps remained unchanged.

Media stock was doing very well today, including TVN with 7 percent jump and Agora with 4 percent up. Polnord construction company and Bioton insulin producer whose medicines received approval from Chinese authorities rose over 4 percent. Fuel companies turned out to be the weakest stock today. PKN Orlen and Lotos were the few losers. KGHM copper producer was falling as well on the news that its CEO was fired.
