ARiMR - HP contract worth PLN 420m (EUR 104.2m) to be invetigated by PiS party

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - Law and Justice (PiS) is going to overview contracts signed in public sector in the eleventh hour before parliamentary elections, Marek Suski, PiS MP and the member of Parliamentary Treasury commission said.

The agreement to deliver IACS system, responsible for subsidies for farmers signed between the Agriculture Restructuring and Modernisation Agency (ARiMR) and HP Polska, one of Poland's biggest IT companies on 15th September 2005.They are welcome to do that but I hope in a human manner and respecting the law, Andrzej Dopierala, HP Polska CEO said.

In 2001, the new winning party (social democrats) renegotiated the contract with HP, which had also been signed prior to elections. The basic agreement was lowereed from EUR 67.3m to EUR 38.5m. Part of HP's orders was cancelled. According to ARiMR, the IACS system has already cost PLN 1 billion, including PLN 700m for non-IT projects.
