Rami Ungar beats the offer of employees and ARP for Stocznia Gdanska shipyard

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Rami Ungar, an Israeli ship owner wants to buy Stocznia Gdanska shipyard. He bet the offer of the company founded by the shipyard’s employees and the government agency ARP.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Rami Ungar, an Israeli ship owner wants to buy Stocznia Gdanska shipyard. He bet the offer of the company founded by the shipyard’s employees and the government agency ARP.

Stocznia Gdanska is trying to separate from its owner – Stocznia Gdynia and is looking for an investor. According to “Puls Biznesu” sources, yesterday, Rami Ungar ordering car transporters in the Polish shipyard, submitted an offer to buy the company.

“I can only confirm that the offer has been made”, Krzysztof Wiater from Squire, Sanders, Wiater lawyers office representing the investor said.

“We have not received it but we know we are due to receive it and we are waiting”, Kazimierz Smolinski, Stocznia Gdynia CEO said.

He refused to say how the proposal will be evaluated and treated.

Stocznia Gdanska Holding, a company founded by the shipyard’s employees, as well as a consortium of Agencja Rozwoju Przemyslu state agency and Energa energy distributor have also submitted their offers before. The Gdansk shipyard would welcome a consortium of employees and ARP as an investor. The offers of ARP and employees amount to PLN 13-16m (EUR 3.9m). According to estimates of Stocznia Gdynia, Stocznia Gdanska is worth PLN 80m. According to “PB” sources Rami Ungar’s offer may be close to this amount.
