Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – After nine consecutive days with the market ending below its opening, WIG20 index shed 1.7 percent to 1,837.1 points, a level reached recently on January 25th. Since the high of February 25th, WIG20 has lost over 13 percent. Today, shares of blue chips worth PLN 450 m (EUR 108 m) changed hands, not that much to be very worried.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On Friday, the WIG20 index noted a symbolic rise of 0.04 percent to 1,874.04 points. At the opening, however, the benchmark jumped higher. This week, the index managed to increase by 1 percent. The benchmark was paced by TPSA telecom and KGHM copper producer. The latter presented results better than expected.

But the fuel giant does not want to acquire both companies with all their production. ‘Our group may buy these companies alone but we are conducting analyses to improve effectiveness of this transaction’, Janusz Wisniewski, PKN Orlen deputy CEO said.
