Super-Pharm increases drugstore network to 50 outlets

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This year, the Canadian Super-Pharm plans to launch in Poland 6-7 new drugstores. Costs of launching one outlet amount to USD 500,000.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This year, the Canadian Super-Pharm plans to launch in Poland 6-7 new drugstores. Costs of launching one outlet amount to USD 500,000.

Last year, we launched seven stores and we 13 of them today. We plan that till 2010, we will have 50 drugstores in Poland. We will invest over PLN 55m to launch the next 37 stores, Beata Szczytowska, CFO of Super-Pharm in Poland said. The company employs 400 people today.

Two years ago, Leon Koffler, Super-Pharm owner, said that in 2010, the company would have USD 150m of sales in Poland.

We increase sales by 20 percent annually. We hope to break even in 2007, Beata Szczytowska said.

Poland is the only European country where Super-Pharm is present. This may change, however, according to the company’s representatives.

Super-Pharm is owned by the Koffler’s family. The networks operates in Canada (900 drugstores) and Israel (130).

There are several drugstore operators in Poland. The largest network is controlled by listed PGF medicine gross seller. Orfe, another listed gross seller owns 170 drugstores. There are 48 stores owned by Cefarm Bialystok which is being privatized put up of sale.
